Think about the events that happened in each story.
The characters actions and how each story ended.
Did both stories have a common theme?
What lessons can we learn from each story?

We've read a very powerful story called Feather's and Fools and watched an equally powerful movie called Selma, Lord Selma. I'd like you to take the time to reflect and think about how the two stories are alike and different.

They are the same because they both have war. They are different because one happens in real life and the other is just made up. They both ended with peace and freedom. If you gossip about one little thing other people could believe and it could start a whole thing.

I agree with you.

(Dad is dictating :)) They're both different because in "Feathers and Fools", there was segregation and in "Selma, Lord Selma", they were trying to fight the segregation.

Yes but that is the basic idea of it.

Both stories are about fighting. The difference is in Lord Selma they stirred the pot in a good way and fought with no violence. However, in Feathers and Fools the peacocks stirred the pot in a bad way and used violence.

I think that thay are different because Feathers and Fools just one person starts it. But in Selma Lord Selma the whites just started it.

They are the same because they both had war. They are different because in Feathers and Fools they are not fighting for freedom and in Lord Selma they are fighting for freedom.

Both "Feather & Fools" and "Selma, Lord Selma" share a common theme; the theme is, "Talk instead of fighting." They both have hatred. But, in "Feathers and fools" the peacocks and swans fight for no reason and in "Selma, Lord Selma", they fight for freedom.

I can add more to Maggie's thinking. In one they stirred the pot in a good way trying to help. However, in the other they stirred the pot in a bad way wanting war to come. One was real and the other one was a made up story. In one, it was one bird who wanted war and death. In the other it was all the white but some were on the black side.

they are diffrent because in the book one foolish man started it and in the movie many foolish men started it.

The common theme between both stories is they both had war. The difference in the two stories is "Selma Lord Selma" is about people fighting for freedom and "Feathers and Fools" is about birds fighting for no reason. I learned that people should not segregate just because your a different race and that peace is better than war.

They are the same because both had segregation. They are different because the Selma movie stopped segregation and in Feathers and Fools they all wiped each other out, except for 2 eggs. The lessons are to treat others the way you want to be treated, and to not judge people by their color or how they act.

They were both the same because each one had a segregation. They were different because one happened in real life and the other was not real. The lesson is that you should talk to somebody before doing it.

Both are similar, in both cases we two groups are fighting against (with or with no reason) and at the end both stories have a happy ending.
